Tampesta Albarin Blanco D.O Tierra de Leon
This artisan Tampesta Albarin is from the DO Tierra de Leon in North Western Spain. It’s a lovely full flavoured wine with body and good mouth feel, having been aged on the lees. Very fresh and natural on the long finish, made by expert Galician winemaker Luis Buitrón, vice-president of the Spanish Federation of Winemakers and president of the Association of Oenologists of Galicia. This vintage is excellent once again.

A winery founded by two brothers in 2000 producing distinctive artisan wines from local grape varieties native to the Leon region, including this Albarin which was almost extinct but is now making a small recovery thanks to a handful of dedicated winemakers. It's a small concentrated grape with strong skin, which makes it ideal for minimalist winemaking as it is naturally resistant to pests and disease. It is known for achieving both high sugar and acid levels and producing strongly flavoured wines with longevity.
